This year CRUX will be supporting African elephants through the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
Best known for the rescue, hand-rearing and rehabilitation of orphaned elephants, The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has worked at a field level for more than 40 years to protect and preserve all wildlife and habitats in Kenya.
The DSWT’s pioneering Orphans’ Project, the first and most successful elephant orphan rescue and rehabilitation program in the world, has raised more than 230 baby elephants who have lost their mothers, most often at the hands of humans. With round-the-clock expert care, the orphaned elephants are provided a nurturing surrogate family and a natural environment, enabling them to transition at their own pace back to the wild.
The DSWT will be represented by Kid’s Tusk Force UK who will collect donations on their behalf and also try and inspire the younger generations to take up the care and protection of elephants.
